Carpet Systems

Korb’s Carpet System accommodates all 14/18, 2 Base Plate typical carpet and underlay combinations.

Selection of the appropriate Carpet System configuration is based on the combined height of the carpet and underlay. To facilitate a continuous unimpeded workflow, the Carpet System’s 2 stage installation process, is best coordinated on site with the carpet layers.

The standards regarding the compliance of carpet in public and commercial areas vary. To be compliant with the Disability Discrimination Act and AS 1428.1 the allowable carpet dimensions are:

• Carpet - Maximum total height - 10mm
• Underlay portion of the carpet - Maximum height 4mm 

However, in the NCC 2016 (BCA) the allowable carpet dimensions are:

• Carpet - Maximum total height - 15mm
• Underlay portion of the carpet- Maximum height 4mm

Although the Carpet System is able to accommodate carpet beyond these dimensions, it should be noted that the system would not be a compliant installation. Use of the Carpet System for non-compliant installations will only occur at the expressed discretion of the client
